June was a truly great month for the stallions of Klawervlei.Four of the feature races run last month were won by offspring of a Klawervlei stallion. June was a month which belonged to Casey Tibbs.

Klawervlei stallions proved popular at last month's Emperor Palace National Yearling Sale.Captain Al sold 26 yearlings for an aggregate of R9.47 million, with an average of R364 231.

March was another great month for Captain Al.Not only was he represented by a number of promising winners, but his daughter, Tullynally topped the recent Equimark Vintage Sale.

Klawervlei sires were again to the fore in January. The remarkable Captain Al was represented by two feature race winners on one day, whilst Casey Tibbs was represented by another stakes winner. Captain Al had an outstanding 2009, and it looks like his progeny are again going to dominate in 2010.His talented filly Captain's Gal thrashed her opposition in the Gr3 Flamboyant Stakes, winning by over three lengths.

Captain Al again demonstrated his remarkable class as a sire during December.The son of Al Mufti goes from strength to strength as a sire, with both colts and fillies shining in stakes company.

Captain Al confirmed his status as one of South Africa’s elite sires, yet again, with a pair of smart performances from two of his sons.The progeny of Captain Al should prove profitable to follow during the up coming feature race season in Gauteng and Cape Town alike. Captain’s Secret, trained by Mike Bass, won his first feature race last month.

September 2009 Every month sees the Klawervlei sires feature prominently and September was no different. Outstanding sire, Captain Al, was represented by a number of promising young prospects last month. His son, Captain’s Secret, won the first feature race of the Cape’s season, the Sophomore Sprint, in grand fashion.

Ever since Big City Life’s fluent Durban July win, Casey Tibbs has been in the limelight.In August, Casey was represented by seven individual winners, whilst Big City Life strolled off with an Equus Award as champion 3yo colt. His son Cyber Case, a half-brother to new Klawervlei sire Jay Peg, won a feature race on the last day of August.

July was a month to remember for Klawervlei stallions.Both Captain Al and Casey Tibbs were represented by Gr.1 winners, whilst Captain Al ensured that he would not be overtaken as the leading sire of juveniles in South Africa for 2008-2009.

Klawervlei’s resident stallion, Casey Tibbs, enjoyed a magnificent June.His son, Big City Life, confirmed his status as the best three-year-old colt in South Africa with a second Gr1 win in the Daily News 2000.

Newsletter February 2009 January proved to be a big month for the progeny of Klawervlei stallions.National Emblem confirmed his place among the elite of South African sires with a pair of Grade One winners. Rebel King has long been one of South Africa’s best sprinters, and the handsome chestnut broke through for his first Grade One win when landing the Cape’s premier sprint, the Cape Flying Championship.
