He has enjoyed more than his fair share of feature successes again this season and he once again heads the 3yo Sire’s List overall at 3rd January. His 15% 3yo stakes winners makes him 2nd leading sire in the 3yo category and he heads the general log by stakes winners with a stakes strike rate of 19%. There were 3 features last weekend – Captain Al’s progeny (Mainbrace and Captain’s Gal – both bred by Veronica Foulkes) won 2 of them and was Dance With Al placed 3rd in the other.
Yet another Sleek And Sassy (also bred by Veronica) won the East Cape feature the week before. The good Captain has now logged up the winners of 453 races at home with just 5 and a bit crops racing – that’s an average of over 100 wins per racing year – yet more proof of his incredible soundness and incredible strike rate – very low wastage factor with this stallion. That’s why his many admirers call him Dr Fixit!
