Rock of Arts, who scored an impressive debut on Tuesday afternoon, is a brother in blood to Klawervlei’s exciting young stallion, Seventh Rock.
The pair are both by world leading sire Rock of Gibraltar, and both are descendants of Australasian Oaks winner, Miss Clipper.
Seventh Rock himself was a superb racehorse, who won six times between 1000 and 1200m, scoring his biggest win in the G1 Gold Medallion as a 2yo. Many of the world’s top sires were G1 winners at two, and this list includes recent sire sensations such as Dubawi, El Prado, Redoute’s Choice, Giant’s Causeway, Oasis Dream and Rock of Gibraltar himself, to name but a few.
There has been plenty of positive feedback regarding the first foals of Seventh Rock, who is himself an imposing and handsome stallion.
Seventh Rock is one of eight G1 winners sired by Rock Of Gibraltar, arguably Danehill’s best racehorse. “The Rock” has been hot in South Africa this season, with both Europa Point and Atyeb ensuring that Rock Of Gibraltar is well up on the South African sires lists.
